As a Disability Support Worker you will be working to support the wellbeing of participants by understanding their needs, preferences and interests. The role includes a range of direct support services including personal and daily care to people with disabilities to help achieve their personal goals and aspirations, meet their physical, emotional and social needs to ensure a quality life with dignity, respect and social inclusion.

Applicants are required to demonstrate their skills, knowledge & experience based on the following essential selection criteria listed below:

  • Knowledge of the complex needs of people with disabilities and strategies to enhance their abilities with a genuine commitment to a service delivery environment.
  • Ability to support residents to develop personal care, health care and hygiene eg: eating, dressing, toileting and bathing.
  • Computer literacy with a good knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite and sound administration skills.
  • Demonstrated communication, organisational, time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to people we support and their families in delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the NSW Disability Services Act and Disability Standards, Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations and Anti-Discrimination Act.
  • Proven capability to work independently and/or work as part of a team in pursuit of team goals, sharing information, contribute to resolutions in a respectful manner.
  • Qualifications & Education: Current class C NSW driver’s licence, Current Working with Children Check and Police Check, Current First Aid Certificate and Certificate III or equivalent. (Desirable)

NOTE: Disability Support Workers – Accommodation – willingness to work shift-work on a 7 day roster including weekends, sleepover shifts and public holidays as required.
